This place is absolutely gorgeous! We stayed at a free campsite right down the road so it only took about 5-10 minutes to get into the park.
Here's the top things you need to have with you when you go:
Mr. Buddy Heater: this was our lifesaver since we went in January. It was freezing at night and this heater kept our van warm. It has fail safe's to prevent anything from catching fire. If it get's knocked over, it'll automatically shut off. So worth the money.
Coleman Portable Stove: I love this stove because it's so easy to use and the butane tanks last a while! I've had it for almost 2 years and it's been great.
If you plan to go in the summer, don't forget sunscreen, sunglasses, and plenty of water. You WILL get a workout in walking up the dunes, so be prepared.
This is one of the few National Parks that allows dogs. They can go on the dunes with you, but protect their pads if you go when it's toasty out.
