Welcome to Washington

I’m pretty sure we couldn’t have picked a better time to come to Washington. The heat index in Arkansas is outrageous in the summer, and we’ve found that even the “humid” days here really aren’t that humid. It may not always be sunny, but the views are as bright as ever.
Literally everywhere we go is beautiful. The only thing that’s not pretty is the traffic. But we even have a view of Mount Rainier from the dog park. How crazy is that? I think my favorite thing is being so close to a few National Parks. On Cassie’s days off, we try to see as much as possible and explore all we can.
We took a trip to Snoqualmie Falls and hiked down to the bottom. Dogs are allowed on the trail, but it was pretty packed when we went and part of the trail was skinny. If you don’t want to hike, you still get a great view of the falls from the top.
We also visited Mount Rainier, and there was still snow on the trails! In July!
Crazy. We had to turn around halfway through because we didn’t have spikes on or poles, and we would’ve been on a small ridge. But we did see a couple guys finish up some skiing on the mountain. So cool.
Any ideas on where we’ll go next?
